Mana Pools National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site based on its pure wilderness and beauty. The park is home to a wide range of mammals, over 350 bird species and aquatic wildlife. Mana Pools offers a truly remote and rugged wilderness experience.
Meaning “four” in the local Shona language, Mana refers to the park’s four large pools that are vestiges of ancient ox-bow lakes carved out by the mighty Zambezi. Situated in the middle of the Zambezi Valley, the Mana Pools National Park offers the incredible opportunity to embark on expertly guided canoe trails. A timeless wilderness considered by many to be the Jewel of Zimbabwe and a Treasure for Africa.

Set in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools is the Kanga Pan. The 12-bedded tented camp has en-suite bathroom facilities with outdoor showers and basins overlooking the water hole. Pristine and undeveloped, this area gives you a pure, unspoilt, private African safari experience. Besides game drives, bird watching and walking excursions, an hour’s drive brings you to the Zambezi flood plains in Mana Pools for canoeing and fishing excursions.
Ruckomechi Camp, situated in a private concession with access to the western areas of Mana Pools National Park, accommodates guests in ten spacious en-suite tented units, including two family units, all of which overlook the wide Zambezi River. The camp is set amongst broad-canopied Ana trees, much loved by the elephants for their rich nutritious seeds. A favourite amongst guests, the camp also boasts an outdoor “bath with a view” in a secluded, scenic spot. Wildlife viewing takes place in open 4×4 vehicles, on foot, on motorised pontoon boats or on canoes. A Star Bed is situated nearby.
